Lord, as I reflect on your word in Proverbs, I hear you speaking about the importance of guiding children from their earliest days. "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." This feels like a profound truth, a promise of enduring influence.

I think about the children in my own life, or children I have known. What seeds am I planting in their hearts and minds? What values, what understanding of you, am I passing on? It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day, the practicalities of life, and forget the long-term impact of our words and actions.

Help me, Lord, to be intentional. Help me to model a life that honours you, not just in grand gestures, but in the quiet, consistent ways I live. May my own journey of faith be a clear path for others to see and follow.

Lord, help me to see the young people around me as precious gifts, entrusted to my care in some way. Help me to offer them guidance rooted in your love and truth. And when they are old, may they look back and see the foundation of faith that was laid, a foundation that continues to hold them secure.

In my quiet moments, Lord, I lift up all those who are raising children. Grant them wisdom, patience, and unwavering love. May they know the deep joy of seeing their children grow in faith and integrity.
