Intercessions for Romans 5:1-8 and Matthew 9:35-10:8

In Romans 5:1-8, Paul talks about the peace and grace we receive through faith in Jesus Christ. He also discusses the hope we have in the glory of God and how suffering can lead to perseverance, character, and hope. He emphasises that the Holy Spirit has poured God’s love into our hearts.

In Matthew 9:35-10:8, we read about Jesus’ compassion for the crowds who were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus then calls his twelve disciples and gives them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. He instructs them to proclaim God’s kingdom and freely give as they have received.

Lord, we pray for your Church around the world. As you have freely given to us, help us to freely give to others, sharing your love and grace with all we meet. Give us the courage to proclaim your kingdom and the compassion to see and respond to those in need.
