  • A prayer for the grace to forgive and bear with one another 2026-10-15

O God, whose boundless forgiveness overflows from your boundless love, we confess our struggles to bear with one another and to forgive those who have wronged us. Grant us, we pray, the grace to extend forgiveness as freely as you have forgiven us through Christ. May this generosity of spirit foster peace and unity within our fellowship, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  • A prayer for bearing with one another and forgiving as the Lord forgave 2026-10-15

Almighty God, as I reflect on your Word today, I am reminded of the call to bear with one another and to forgive, just as you have forgiven me. So often, I find myself holding onto grievances, nursing hurts, and building walls of resentment. Lord, help me to see others through your eyes, with compassion and understanding.

When I feel wronged or misunderstood, Lord, help me to pause before reacting. Stir within me a willingness to extend grace, to listen with an open heart, and to seek reconciliation rather than perpetuation of conflict. Remind me of the immense forgiveness you have already shown me, the depth of your mercy that washes over my own failings. May this profound understanding compel me to offer that same forgiveness to those who have wounded me.

Lord, I confess my tendency to hold grudges. I pray for the strength to release the bitterness that can poison my spirit and damage my relationships. Grant me the humility to acknowledge my own part in disagreements and the courage to make amends when necessary.

Help me, O God, to cultivate a spirit of patience and forbearance in my interactions. May I be quick to offer encouragement and slow to point out faults. When disagreements arise, let me seek to understand rather than to win, and to build bridges rather than deepen divides.

Inspire me to live out your love through my actions and words, reflecting the boundless forgiveness that you so freely give.

Lord, help me to forgive as you have forgiven me. Amen.
